The Company

Since the 17th century, the horse-drawn carriages characterize Vienna’s cityscape. The coachmen themselves were known all over town and a lot of “Fiakerlieder” (cab-songs) show the importance of this attractive tradition, which is still considerable today. The coach and the coachman himself are called as “Fiaker”. A carriage for two persons is described as “Droschke” or “Pferdedroschke” as well. Not only in the summer months, every time during the year, it’’s hard to imagine Vienna’s townscape without the cabs. Every day, they go for a spin in Vienna’s old part of town to show the visitors the beauty of the city from another point of view.

The company Paul is a Vienna traditional company which was founded by the grandfather of today’s owner and offers horse-drawn carriages for over 100 years. It’s the only Viennese cab-company which has the license for round trips at the area of “Schönbrunn” palace. At peak times, 20 coaches drive visitors of Austria’s capital through the inner city.

ZukunftThe next generation is already here to join the business and to lead the company into a further successful future and to sustain the tradition.
